Firooz Zadeh is a retired educator from Colorado living in New Zealand. His award-winning books are informative, entertaining, and interesting. The two most popular ones: “The Journey – An Immigrant’s Story” and “Islam versus Terrorism” have been translated in several languages. He has given lectures at universities, clubs, and professional organizations around the world along with having interviews at local and national radio and TV programs. Firooz has been an invited guest lecturer for cruise lines since 2001 sharing insightful information on the countries we visit.
Zadeh has a lifetime fascination with languages and cultures. His stimulating lectures inspire in his audience a respect for other cultures and nations for who they are and what they believe in. His first hand knowledge and personal experiences combined with a unique sense of humor will make you think, laugh, cry and appreciate the fortunate lives we have.
Professor Zadeh obtained his B.S. from Tehran University, M.S. from the University of Wyoming and did his doctoral studies at the University of Northern Colorado and Denver University. Zadeh was a former National soccer and track champion in Iran and one of the pioneer soccer coaches hired to promote soccer in the US. Firooz became a naturalized American citizen in 1980. He has been honored with numerous local, state and National titles including: “Outstanding Teacher,” “Profile of Commitment and Inspiration,” and “Excellence in Education.”
Firooz now lives in New Zealand with his wife Bernadette where, in his retirement, he has made a meaningful contribution to the local soccer program. His personal athletic and coaching accomplishments, both in Iran and the US, makes him an outstanding teacher, mentor, lecturer, and coach. He is organized and patient, and a superb communicator who can motivate his trainees to reach the best of their ability. Firooz's positive influence has made a difference in the lives of many people.
